As the basis of the complex,the bis(2-benzimi-dazoles) group ligands and its application has become a hot issue in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry.This paper outlines the synthesis of the bis(2-benzimidazoles) group and application prospects, and some of the is-sues that need attention.In order to better apply it to areas such as chemical materials,to provide a theoretical basis.1.Synthesis of the two kinds of bis-benzimidazole compounds 2,2’-(1,3-trimethylene-alkyl) bis-benzimidazole,2,2’-(1,4-butylene-alkyl) bis-benzimidazole. respectively, to obtain a single crystal structure, the molecular structure of the compounds are substantially coplanar and each cell has a crystal water. In the water molecule is bridging hydrogen bonds formed, plus a Wu Wu stacking interactions between molecules, both of which determine the stability of the unit cell.2.Two new metal-organic frameworks, namely complexl、2、3、 [Cd2(H2C3PIm)(TPA)4(H2O)3]n、[Zn3(H2C3PIm)3(BTC)2(H2O)2]n、 [Co(TPA)(H2C3PIm)(H2O)]n。Depending on the different neutral chelate ligands used, reaction of Cd(Ⅱ) and Zn(Ⅱ) and Co(Ⅱ) salt with H2C3PIm results in the formation of two coordination polymers:a 1D tube [Cd2(H2C3PIm)(TPA)4(H2O)3]n, and a 2D sheet [Zn3(H2C3PIm)3(BTC)2 (H2O)2]n which features right- and left-handed helices and an uncommon two extra-large circular with the distorted topology.The compound 3 are linked through TPA ligands into a wavilness 2D layer and further connected into a 3D framework via π-π packing interactions between the adjacent H2C2PIm ligands and weak N-H…O hydrogen bonding between uncoordinated carboxylate and the nitrogen atoms of H2C2PIm as well as the free water molecules.3.Two new metal-organic frameworks, namely complex4 and 5: [Zn(BPTC)0.5(H2C2PIm)(H2O)]n、[Cd(TAP)(H2C2PIm)(H2O)]n。The compound 4 units are linked through BPTC ligands into a wavilness parquet 2D layer and further connected into a 3D framework via π-π packing interactions between the adjacent H2C2PIm ligands and weak N-H…O hydrogen bonding between uncoordinated carboxylate and the nitrogen atoms of H2C2PIm as well as the free water molecules.The complex 5 shows a one-dimensional (1D) zigzag chain structure and further extends into a 3D supramolecular structure through N-H …O,O-H…O hydrogen bonding interactions. Luminescent studies show that the complex exhibits intense blue fluorescent emission.4. A new cadmium nitrite complex[Cd2(H3C4PIm)2(TPA)(NO2)2]n The centrosymmetric complex 6 contains a dimer in which two distorted octahedral Cd(Ⅱ) centers are bridged by BDC ligand and chelated by H2C3PIm. The units of the complex are linked weak N-H-O hydrogen bonds between the nitrito and the BDC ligands, leading to the formation of a 1D zigzag chain along the b axis.5.A new complex[[Ni4(dhbd)2·8H2O]·13H2O]n. The centrosy metric nickel complex 7 contains a tetranuclear in which four distorted octahedral Ni(Ⅱ) centers are bridged by the carboxylic oxygen atoms and the hydroxy oxygen atoms of the four 2,3-dihydroxy butanedioic acid with the Pisces mode, featuring a novel mutually perpendicular bicyclo structure.
