Geraniol is a principal rose essence.It is widely applied in the food,cosmetic,antibacterial, insecticide,etc. As an important food flavoring,it can increase and correct the incense.By now,the preparation of geraniol from citral is mainly selective catalystic reduction with NaBH4.Which has some disadvantages,such as high cost,difficulty conditions and low catalytic activity.So it is meaningful to study the non-noble metal nanomaterials which have low cost and high catalytic efficiency instead of NaBH4 to selective hydrogenation when the agent for hydrogen is exist in the mild condition.This method is expected to become the new way to prepare the geraniol.This paper mainly explored the influencing factors of morphology and size,formation process, crystal properties and surface material composition of ternary non-noble metal Cu/Co/Ni nanomaterials prepared by liquid chemical reduction through the methods of UV, IR, EDX, ICP, XRD, TEM, SEM and Cyclic Voltammetry.After the deeply research of ternary metal Cu/Co/Ni nanomaterials choose isopropyl alcohol as agent for hydrogen and nanomaterials as catalyst to prepare the geraniol from citral by catalytic hydrogenation.After detailed studies on the preparation of Cu/Co/Ni nanomaterials,the best synthesis conditions can be found:the mass ratio of three metal precursors is 10:15:20,the amount of DMF is 6mL,the molar mass of reducing agent is 5 times the amount of metal ion,the molar mass of stabilizer is 50 times the amount of metal ion,bath in the oil at 150℃ for 12 h.In the end their morphology and size are controlled.They formed a new phase and contain three elements at the same time.The reduction order of metal atoms in the preparation is:copper firstly,nickel next,cobalt finally.Their surface contain some residues.In the hydrogenation reaction of citral,the results show that reaction products contain geraniol by GC-MS detection,compared with the NaBH4 the Cu/Co/Ni nanomaterials have some advantages in terms of cost and reaction conditions.
