All along, the bionic brings human a lot of well-being. From the bone needle imitates the fishbone, to the wheel invented from the horseweed, then to the creation of aircraft that imitates the flying bird, all interpret the special significance of the bionic. From the horseshoe sleeves to the gigot sleeve then to the bell, all illustrate the ecological inspiration. Obviously, the bionic plays an important role in life. In today’s fast-paced, stressful life, people blindly pursue the development of technology and economy. Not only causes the deterioration of the ecological environment, but also gradually widens the distance between people’s life and ecology. Facing this situation, we should introspect. Clothing is an indispensable part of life, the essence of fashion design is to solve the problems confronting mankind, and so the clothing design is one of the important factors. Bionic clothing design is a design activity that imitates the natural biological including the artificiality. Through the design we can create the cloth people familiar and close with, and find the connection point of harmony between human and environment.This paper studies the shape design of women’s draping from the angle of bionic design, mainly from the following aspects:First, through the sorting out the concept of bionic design of women’s draping, to find the relevance of bionic design and women’s draping. Explore the origin of the bionic design of clothing, analyze its status quo and trend of development, and combine the characteristics of the vertical cutting technology and the advantage of modeling. Carry on an analysis of the relationship between the bionic design and the women’s draping. Second, on the basis of collecting a large amount of data, study the clothing profile, structure, texture and other creative elements, basic techniques and fabric patterns from the combination of the specific cases. Third, according to the existing cases and literature, study the style features and modeling language in the bionic design of women’s draping, to provide a theoretical basis for the later design practice. Fourth, design and develop the practical process steps, through three cases of practical operation to explore the actual role of the bionic design applied to the women’s draping.The innovation of this paper is to interpret the idea of bionic design from the perspective of the vertical cutting technique. And then explore the women’s draping from the perspective of bionic creativity; combine the idea of bionic design and the technology of women’s draping. On the one hand, it can give the clothing the charm of the natural life and the deep cultural connotation, let people experience the natural vitality and beauty, meet the emotional needs of people to close to nature. On the other hand, it can pave the way for the development of the bionic design, provides a theoretical basis and practical examples to the bionic design in the future. Through the investigation of the present fashion design and theory research, analyze the artistic characteristics of women’s bionic design, and seek the most effective creative way. Inspire the creativity of women’s draping through the idea of bionic design; realize the bionic shape of women’s clothing by using the vertical cutting technique, so we can bring a new inspiration to the clothing creativity.
