The representative volume element (RVE) is widely used to estimate effective properties with fiber reinforced composites (FRC), we suppose that the fiber in FRC is arranged periodically, but actually it is not so. In order to provide an accurate thermal analysis with fiber-reinforced composite (FRC), a new model based on a statistics RVE (SRVE) is presented. Monte Carlo method, finite element analysis and statistical analysis were applied together. Heat flux field, thermal gradient field and the effective thermal conductivity of a typical fiber reinforced composites were discussed. The criteria of SRVE were determined and the critical size of SRVE for thermal analysis was obtained by applying the main statistics and cross entropy theory. In the meantime, do factor analysis, correlation analysis and curve simulation analysis for the SRVE critical dimension criterion. The main contents are as follows:(l)Introduce research background and current research status of RVE, and arranging the main contents of this study.(2) According to the research object to establish relevant mathematical model, give the flow chart of algorithm, calculate the average, standard deviation, symmetric cross entropy and coefficient of variation of related data. Put forward the method of SRVE critical size determination (Heat flux field, thermal gradient field and effective thermal conductivity) and combined with these calculated data to determine the critical size of SRVE.(3) Based on SPSS software for statistical analysis, Results showed cross entropy is better than the mean and standard deviation at statistic selection of SRVE critical size determination.Correlation analysis showed significance between the symmetric cross entropy is positive and stronger, in curve simulation analysis, select Growths Exponential、Logistic for fitting,fitting degree is higher.
