Distillation process is generally and widely utilized in chemical and petroleum industries for separation of mixtures characterized by boiling points and which inherits higher interacting, non-linearity and uncertainty characters. In conventional control strategy such as PID single control loop, the distillation process with higher energy consumption and lower energy efficiency. Today, the term Industry 4.0 describes a vision of future production which makes the process control toward to intellectualization and network information, so optimal control study to distillation process turn to be increasingly urgent. On the basis of distillation process flow research, develops distillation process optimal control simulation platform which combines Siemens PCS7 (DCS control system) with MATLAB.First of all, this article analyzes the characteristics of distillation process and designs the conventional PID, Fuzzy, DMC control strategy. By use of CFC, SCL language and MATALB/Simulink to establish the distillation process subsystem (column system, evaporator system, reflux condenser system, the top light fraction system, bottom heavy fraction system) mathematical model. Secondly, the study brings out the hardware system for Siemens PC-Box, the software system for combining WinAC and PCS7 with MATLAB, and introduces the use of Simulink PLC Coder and Simulink Coder code generation technology to realize seamless integration between MATLAB/Simulink and WinAC. At last, by using simulation system experiment analysis, as a result the DMC controller hold a better control performance to deal with the multivariable coupling and disturbance problems in distillation process.This distillation process optimization control simulation system is conducive to enterprise staff training, operating practice and familiar with production process and provide reference and guidance for actual APC industrial control.
