Water is a dispensable and irreplaceable natural resource for human life and social production. The serious shortage of fresh water resources and increasingly serious water pollution is still one of the constraints for sustainable development of China’s iron and steel enterprises. Facing the unprecedented severe water saving and emission reduction situation, how to increase water resources of iron and steel enterprises to co-ordinate and recycling, to achieve sustainable development has become the key to the development of enterprises.In recent years, Jinan Iron and Steel Group has been working to reduce the consumption of fresh water, realize the reclamation of sewage, and improve the ratio of water recycle. At the same time, to optimize the way of water supply and drainage, take advantage of technical measures such as water supply and drainage based on different quality as well as water balance to make the fresh water consumption of Jinan Iron and steel reduced to the international advanced level, providing a reliable guarantee for the implement of the concept of scientific development, and the development of recycling economy as well as sustainable development.The paper focuses on the following aspects by studying the advance experience and technology for sewage water treatment and recycle of advance iron and steel enterprises at home and abroad, combining the present situation of water quality, the use of water resources in Jinan steel and their own conditions:(1)Combining the design, construction and operation and management experience of Jinan steel’s comprehensive sewage treatment and recycle sewage system, the paper analyzes the sources and characteristics of a comprehensive sewage treatment in current iron and steel enterprises and recycle sewage system, water quality of import and export, the selection of treatment process, existing problems and development trend and so forth. (2) The paper summarizes the existing experience and problems of iron and steel enterprises and selects the optimal scheme suitable for sewage treatment recycle system, providing reference for relevant iron and steel enterprises in comprehensive sewage treatment and recycle project. (3) The paper introduces the principle and development situation of double membrane desalination technology, taking the depth treatment process with double film method for sewage treatment and recycle system in Jinan Iron and Steel Group as an example. The paper analyzes the reasons of membrane fouling deeply from the following aspects:the design of conventional treatment process system, operating conditions, operation management, the condition of water imported, reverse osmosis additive and the use of other supplies. (4) The paper describes the treatment technology and development trend of commonly used brine, and puts forward the two kinds of brine treatment process scheme suitable for Jinan Steel Industrial Park, that is desalination and crystallization process of -RO membrane pretreated with concentrated brine and Low temperature thermal evaporation and crystallization process for concentrated brine.
