Since twenty-first Century, with the rapid development of China’s economy, China’s demand for a variety of mineral resources is growing exponentially, and thus lead to the development of mining industry. The tailing reservoir in China has more than 12000 seats, tailings dam has a lot of toxic tailing residue, tailings dam collapse or tailing dam of large amount of leakage flow occurred once, great damage to the surrounding people’s lives and property and ecological environment. Therefore, the safe and stable operation of tailings reservoir is of great significance to the mine enterprise. Rational planning of tailings storage capacity, to optimize the selection of tailings address and security design of tailings dam can not only protect downstream of the tailing pond safety of life and property and the surrounding environment, but also reduces the operation cost for enterprises and improve the efficiency of management. The to liberate iron mine as the research object, aiming at the liberation of iron ore, ore, operation experience requirements, combined with engineering geological conditions of mining area, hydrological and geological conditions, weather conditions, with reference to the relevant norms, the liberation of the iron ore tailings of planning design and simulation analysis make the following working: Overview of the liberation of iron ore production, operation status, with reference to the tailings library related design specifications, calculate a reasonable tailings reservoir capacity to meet the mining needs; Overview and analysis of mining engineering, hydrology geology condition, selection of tailings and tailings dam and the initial address design of dam; The Geo-studio software seep/W module of initial tailings dam and stacking dam seepage field numerical simulation, it is concluded that the seepage field of the relevant maps and data; Numerical simulation on the stability of the dam using slope/W module, safety coefficient is given and the possible sliding surface; Analyze the influence factors of tailings dam and the tailings of stable operation, the relevant suggestions are given to maintain reasonable operation, the tailings and tailings dam.
