| With the three-layer composites have been widely used in various fields and the customers’requirements of the properties become more and more critical. It not only needs fine terminological properties of the three-layer composites, but also needs improving the surface composite material’s bonding strength on especially in mechanical engineering and automobile making fields. In this background, this issue enters into the study of the PTFE three-layer composites self-lubricating material to research the effect by adding the fillers such as graphite, molybdenum disulfide, polyimide and ekonol individually or multiply. In the research work, qualified friction and wear experiment samples are first be prepared by using the mature industrial equipment and production technology of PTFE composite. The experiment simulated actual conditions with dry friction, oil boundary friction; testing the bonding strength of the sample’s surface with the ultrasonic impact. Then all the specimen’s surface characteristics are observed by optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. And combined with the tribological and impact experimental results, we discuss friction and wear mechanisms of the formulation materials. The useful conclusions are as follows:1. The addition of inorganic fillers such as graphite and molybdenum disulfide can significantly improve the friction performance of the material, but will reduce the material’s wear resistance and bonding strength.2. The addition of organic fillers such as polyimide and ekonol can significantly improve the wear resistance and the bonding strength of the material, and also have a positive effect on the friction properties of the materials; Polyimide plays a great role in the bonding strength of the material.3. When multi component fillers been added together, it will quickly formation and stability of transfer film in the process of friction. The results is greatly improving the friction and wear properties of the composite materials, and the interaction between the various fillers can make full use of the characteristics of various fillers to wear and tear, especially in the bonding strength of the composite material. |
