Gear is basic parts used for mechanical transmission, for bulldozer, gear is the key to affect the life of the workpiece, because of the bulldozer is working in the movement, which load is much larger than other commonly engineering machinery, the gear used by bulldozer mostly for high strength quenched gears, to ensure the accuracy of its transmission, the machining of gear after quenching has become the key process to influence the life of the bulldozer. At present, gears after quenching mainly adopts hardened gear hobbing and gear grinding for processing。 Hobbing compared with the grinding, the advantages of the processing efficiency is unparalleled, especially with the large modulus、multi tooth number of bulldozer gear is a key factor to consider。 To hobbing.The gear after quenching, mostly used in shaving technology of carbide hob, carbide hob using the most because the manufacturing precision is high, and the process is mature, but in the process of the use is easy to appear the teeth loss, the collapse of the edge and other issues, especially the decay of tooth shape after heavy wear is serious, and regrind the hob need long time, high cost, high skill requirements for staff, although the enterprises have a lot of research on the hob regrinding and using, it still can not completely solve the problem of lower gear tooth profile accuracy caused by heavy wear, cause bulldozer appeared abnormal sound of gear, fight tooth, bearing fever and other problems, which resulting in increased production costs.In this paper, we analyze the reason of the deviation of the hob tooth profile through the research of the movement process of the shovel grinding, through the study of existing methods of regrind the hob, it is proved that the deviation of hob tooth profile can not be solved by regrinding, and then by analyzing the practical principle of hob cutting gear, use Creo to design indexable hob by the method of spiral solid removal, and produced by the German company of Leitz, and then to experiment through the cutting of the gear, explore the rational instructions, compared with the use of existing hob, analysis accuracy, efficiency, cost advantages and disadvantages, it has some reference and inspiration to the domestic manufacturers and hob using enterprise.In this paper, the design and experiment objects are hob of process medium horsepower bulldoze gear, according to the basic theory of hob, use of space removal method, modeling using CREO software, using the method of split design and the overall assembly adjustment, the accuracy of the cutting edge position is ensured by the removal of the whole spiral solid, it has achieved the purpose of reducing the design cost and improving the accuracy of the design, have some guidance for the domestic hob manufacturing enterprises.In this paper, a large number of experiments on the applications of indexable hob, help a lot of enterprises to understand the indexable hob, to some extent, dispel the psychology of want to use indexable hob but worried about a large investment and high risk, it has some inspiration for the enterprises of use the hob.
