On The Value Of Ancient Ecological Thought For Chinese Ecological Civilization Construction

Along with the industrial revolution and the deepening of the process of industrialization, people are getting huge social wealth, but the ecological and environmental problems around the world have been more and more prominent since the 1960s, which becomes the biggest concern in the 21st century. China, a developing country, witnesses the rapid economic development and the rapid improvement of our national strength after 30 years of industrialization. However, there have been many ecological problems such as tight resource constraints, environmental pollution and ecosystem degradation. Therefore, the Party raised the issue of ecological civilization construction for the first time in the Seventeenth Congress, and made great efforts to launch the ecological civilization construction in the Eighteenth Congress, placing the ecological civilization construction in a prominent position, and making it integrated into all areas of social development.Ecological civilization is to abandon industrial civilization and bring a fundamental change in people’s thinking and values. It guides people to build new production methods and new ways of life, forming harmony and joint development between man and nature, building a resource-saving and environment-friendly society so as to push human society into a green healthy way to the sustainable development. Ecological civilization Construction requires ideological theory, practical experience and concept of ecological civilization in this respect. Ancient Chinese ecological thought conveys people’s reverence for nature, respect for the laws of nature and cherish for life, exuding the humanistic care for nature, highlighting the respect for the natural world and broad mind of love, and demonstrating a dynamic ecological picture with beautiful environment, in which man and nature coexist and develop in harmony and peace. The purpose of this study is based on the ecological thoughts of in ancient China manifests ecological thinking, ecological practice, ecological objectives and other thoughts to analyze, develop and abandon,that can provide a wealth of resources of thought for China’s current construction of ecological civilization, and thus to promote the construction of ecological civilization carried out smoothly, in order to find a way to solve the ecological problems facing our country.This paper mainly studies the value of ancient ecological thought for Chinese ecological civilization construction, including an introduction, four chapters as the main body and a conclusion.The introduction describes the purpose and significance of the topic, the research status at home and abroad, the important content and focus of this paper, as well as the basic ideas, research methods and innovation research of the paper.The second chapter is a summary of ancient Chinese ecological thought, which comprehensively and systematically introduces from three major aspects respectively, the evolution of ecological thought in ancient China, the main contents of ecological thought in ancient China, and the basic characteristics of the ancient Chinese ecological thought.The third chapter explains the contemporary value of ancient Chinese ecological thought. Combined with the specific requirements and objectives in the Eighteenth Congress report on ecological civilization construction, this paper illustrates the value of ancient Chinese ecological thought for the current ecological civilization construction from three aspects: ecological thoughts and theories, practices of ecological civilization and people’s idea of ecological civilization.The fourth chapter is the analysis of existing values in Chinese ecological civilization construction, pointing out the positive effect and negative impact of these values, and analyzing the negative impact of these values on ecological environment based on ancient Chinese ecological thought. As the existing values have a negative effect on humans and human societies, they are not conducive to the ecological civilization construction. Thus the author proposes her innovative personal perspective:establish the new idea of national "ecological security" as well as reasonable plan for resources exploitation and utilization based on the "eco-oriented" values, while opposing the uncontrolled demand and waste.The fifth chapter discusses the enlightenment of ancient Chinese ecological thought on current ecological civilization construction mainly from the following three sides:remodeling ecological values of harmony between man and nature, changing the mode of production and people’s lifestyle, enhancing the awareness of ecological civilization and civil quality in the whole society.The conclusion is a summary of the research results and the most important fruit of this paper.
