PVC is one of the three generic plastic world because of it’s low price, non-toxic. It has a wide range of applications in all aspects of people’s life and production of the world. The plasticizer is a given plastic flexible plastics processing aids, soft PVC products are usually small molecules such plasticizer DOP plasticized. Compare with small molecules represented DOP plasticizer which has plasticizing effect although excellent compatibility, but also has many shortcomings. Their material long application process, will migrate to the surface of plastic products, has drawn serious phenomenon under special circumstances, in cold environments or high temperatures likely to fail, these deficiencies greatly reduce the time and use of the product features.In this research, a new series of macromolecular additives were designed and synthesized based on the mechanism of plasticizer and law of antistatic additive molecular motion. Increasing the molecular weight of auxiliaries can improve durability and low temperature performance.We also add a functional monomer to have good compatibility with PVC and improve resistance of migration and extraction performance additives. Add additives to the synthesis of PVC material, contrasting small molecule DOP, inspect the effect of the polymer processing additive. The main findings as follows:In this study we adopt acrylic emulsion system, use an anionic polymerization initiator. Using seed pre-emulsification semi-continuous emulsion polymerization technology,we synthesize a new series of macromolecular additives with butyl acrylate (BA), styrene (St) and functional monomers maleic such as anhydride (MAH), acrylonitrile (AN),then we have a series of acrylic polymers, styrene-acrylic RY pure polymer and the functional monomer is added to RY-MAH-and RY-AN polymer. This paper studies the emulsion polymerization and different initiator, emulsifier and reaction temperature; the ratio of RY-MAH and the ratio of this polymer additives and PVC which influence PVC’s properties; the comparison of polymer plasticizer and small molecular plasticizer on PVC endure-climate property and low temperature resistance. Involved experiments include:emulsion polymerization; preparation and molding process of PVC soft board; the test of impact strength, tensile strength and break elongation; the determination of sample’s thermal aging, ultraviolet aging and low temperature resistance performance.The paper eventually come:when the temperature was 80 ℃, initiator dosage was 0.8% and the emulsifying agent was 2.5%, the synthesized emulsion stable performance of RY-MAH was best, the conversion rate reached to 97.16%;when the polymerization temperature was 80 ℃, initiator dosage was 0.7% and the emulsifying agent dosage was 3.0%, the synthesized emulsion stable performance of RY-AN was best, the conversion rate reached to 97.65%. The prepared macromolecular additive has good extraction resistance, weather resistance and heat resistance, it will has good mechanical properties, impact strength, a certain increase applying in the PVC. RY-MAH-type additives has best performance, consider alternative small molecule plasticizers in PVC soft or hard products.
