Abstract/Summary:
Chlorinated butyl rubber is an important kind of synthetic rubber material and has excellent air tightness, weatherability, good shock resistance and flexing resistance. But its resilience, abrasion resistance and compatibility with other rubber blend is poor. Butadiene rubber has excellent resilience and abrasion resistance, and good compatibility with other rubber blend. In this paper, chlorinated butyl rubber/butadiene rubber blend rubber were prepared using butadiene rubber, and blending adhesive performance were researched, in order to improve the application of CIIR blend to provide certain theoretical basis.The influence of the CIIR/BR blending ratio, mixing process conditions and vulcanization system to the mechanical properties, the apparent crosslinking density, thermal stability and blending compatibility were investigated in this paper. In addition, the sulfur vulcanization system, zinc oxide vulcanization system and sulfur-zinc oxide composite vulcanization system were optimized by the orthogonal design method. Finally, the optimization formula of three vulcanization system were obtained. The results showed that:When the CIIR/BR blend ratio is 80/20, the tensile strength, stretch stress and the apparent crosslinking density of the vulcanized rubber were relative to the largest.At different temperatures, 120# gasoline and chloroform are used respectively to measure the apparent crosslinking density of the vulcanized rubber, finding the measure of the apparent crosslinking density using chloroform at 20 °C is better.By changing the mixed order of CIIR, BR and various additives, the influence of four kinds of different mixing process to physical and mechanical properties of blending vulcanizates are comparatively studied. The results show that through firstly making CIIR, BR and their separate additives mixied, then making CIIR masterbatch mixed with BR masterbatch according to certain proportion, The vulcanized rubber has good mechanical properties and stability.When using sulfide curing system, the best formula is as follows: CIIR/BR blend ratio 80/20, sulfur 2.0, zinc oxide 5.0. When using metal oxide curing system, the best formula is as follows: zinc oxide 3.5, magnesium oxide 0.175, accelerator TMTD 2.5, blending vulcanization accelerator DM 1.0. When using the sulfur-metal oxide composite curing system, the best formula is as follows: CIIR/BR blend ratio 80/20, zinc oxide 3, magnesium oxide 1.5, sulfur 0.3, accelerator TMTD 1.4, accelerator DM 0.8.
