Pattern, known as a practical and decorative combination of art form, which is the crystallization of human wisdom. Garment pattern design should be innovative along with the development of digital information technology, as the clothing pattern not only to play the role of decoration, but also to meet people’s pursuit of individuality and novelty. The rapid development of modern science and computer technology provides a new method and idea for the innovation of fashion design. In order to enrich the form of clothing pattern, expand the traditional design idea, from the point of view of mathematical art graph, combined with the characteristics of the traditional classic pattern, a feasible way is found as to the application of the curve function graphics in the design of fashion pattern.Firstly, the following subjects are analyzed in this paper: mathematical curve function, the basic principle of the curve function graphics generation, and the characteristics of the art graphics. Which mainly introduces the principle of generating and graphical features of basic mathematical curve in pictographic curves and motion curves; confusing graphics and Mira graphics that made by using different algorithms of curve function are mainly introduced.Secondly, through the analysis of the origin and development of the Islamic pattern, and the three themes of the Islamic pattern: geometry, plant and text, the artistic features of the Islamic patterns are summarized and the elements are extracted from the typical Islamic traditional patterns. Then, based on the design principle of pattern design, combined with computer aided design, the digital art graphics generated by using programming software programming of MATLAB, combined with the extracted from the Islamic pattern elements, with the use of a single or combined method to complete the simulation of the Islamic pattern, to make it can be applied to the fabric of the design patterns. Finally, the pattern designed is applied to the design of clothing fabric pattern by means of digital printing and computer embroidery, these all fully reflect the feasibility of the fashion design based on the mathematical method.The paper focuses on the combination of the mathematical method and the art, by analyzing different mathematical theory, Islamic pattern and simulation results, to summarize the optimal generation theory of different types of Islamic patterns. This paper provides a convenient and efficient method for pattern design, through the use of mathematical methods, combined withcomputer aided design to complete the simulation of the Islamic style pattern, to design the pattern of both national sense and modern sense, which rich pattern design material. Practice has proved that the use of mathematical methods can be achieved on the traditional pattern design an creation, to design both classical and stylish art pattern.
