The inclined narrow flow classifier is hydraulic classification equipment with a series of innovative research and development based on the introduction of foreign equipment. It has many strongpoints such as structure simpleness, convenience to use, low consumed cost, and high classification efficiency and etc. In recent years, it was used increasingly in iron and steel, environmental protection, light industry, chemistry industry and other fields. Ilmenite Concentrator of Anshan Iron and Steel Group company used technics which are desliming first, and then classification in the original, the process exists many problems of production technology, such as low concentration and classification equipment classification efficiency and production capacity, thickening and dewatering mud poor effect and screen wear quickly and, in order to solve these technical problems, Ilmenite Concentrator adopts the inclined narrow flow classifier for fractionation and enrichment operations, concentrating and grading of mineral grain grade fully meets the requirement of Ilmenite processing particle level, classification efficiency is very high. But it is often affected by feeding ore flux, the impact of fluctuations in the Concentration and particle size, concentration, flux and other parameters are controlled by human, it will lead to that various technical indicators can’t meet the requirements. Therefore, the use of automatic control technology to achieve automatic control of the inclined narrow flow classifier is of great significance.This article draws on lessons from concentration parameter automatic measurement and control technology of the domestic and foreign concentrator inclined narrow flow classifier, combined with the in field application, with the mature application of PLC controller and instrument technology, inclined narrow flow classifying thickener classification and concentration process will be achieved automatic control. After a period of time for field investigation and analysis, the automatic control system of underflow concentration of the inclined narrow flow classifier is designed and completed based on WinCC and SIMATIC S7-300 PLC. The PLC control program (programming language) of the inclined narrow flow classifying thickener is programmed after mastering the working principle and using method of PLC.Through the analysis and comparison, the automatic control system is consist of controller which is the 315-2DP PLC, the detection instrument which are the ultrasonic sludge density analyzer, the HHD intelligent electromagnetic flowmeter and the ZSX-D intelligent electronic rubber hose.The monitoring system of upper machine is built by WinCC configuration software, In the laboratory, the automatic control system of the inclined narrow flow classifier is simulated, and the stability and reliability of the automatic control system are relatively high.
