Titanium resources in China are very rich, but the reserves of rutile that has high grade and easy choice are very few. Titanium resources in China mainly are vanadium titanium magnetite that is difficult to choose and has low grade. A large part of vanadium titanium magnetite distribute in Panzhihua, in this paper, the raw ore comes from the tailings of concentrate magnetite in Panzhihua vanadium titanium magnetite.The method of concentrate ilmenite is complicated in the past, mainly including gravity separation, magnetic separation, flotation, joint process and other methods. At present, in Panzhihua region, the relatively small titanium concentration plants mainly use gravity separation, including table concentrator and spiral chute, but has a lot of shortcomings, for example, big covers, low efficiency, severe resource waste and so on; The mainstream technology of the relatively small titanium concentration plants is "wet magnetic separation-flotation"process. The process has the following advantages: ①technology is relatively mature, has a high reliability; ②demand of flotation reagents and flotation environment is small; ③covers of equipment is much smaller, and has higher recovery ratio, can be improved to 30%. But there are also several problems that cannot be neglected: ①high equipment cost and investment; ②the remanence of ore is big after magnetic separation, can produce interference on subsequent flotation; ③process is too long, has complex operation;④exit of products is more. The study found that, in view of Panzhihua vanadium titanium magnetite iron tailing, all-partical-fraction-flotation experiment process that proposed by this paper, not only can save energy, but also the recovery ratio of finally titanium concentrate also has greatly improved. But there are many the influencing factors in the flotation process. In order to determine the influence factors of ilmenite flotation process, this paper mainly made a careful study in the effect of magnetite and pyrite to titanium concentrate quality; ore pulp pH of ilmenite flotation process and efficient reagent regime of ilmenite flotation.Through pure ilmenite flotation, SEM-EDS energy spectrum analysis, X ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis, Zeta potential detection methods, this paper has researched methods of the action mechanism between the high efficient collector SYB2#, CMC and the surface of ilmenite, and preliminary explained the influence of magnetite, pH and so on in the ilmenite flotation. Moreover, in the actual ore flotation experiment process, in view of the ilmenite raw ore, this paper puts forward the innovative ideas of "desulfurization in advance-deironing thoroughly-precise pH and flotation of titanium effective" and "one roughing, one selection, one scavenging, middlings individual treatment" open-circuit all-partical-fraction-flotation experiment process, finally obtains the great quality index of the titanium concentrate grade is 47.08%, the recovery is 54.38%.
