| Coking process is involved in many industry fields, such as metallurgy and petrochemical industry. Coke tower is the main place where coking process happens and hence safe operation of the coke tower deserves enough attention. Currently, operation of the coke tower has the characteristics of cycle and complication, so safety accident is led to occur by the wrong operations which are result from the tiredness and bad operating habits. This article makes research on control technology of the Coke tower safe operation for reducing the labor intensity and improving operational safety.In terms of the characteristics of the coking process, the article offers the crucial process involved with safety to extract the main control variables, like valve signals and so on. In accordance with the ten steps of the coke tower operation, we are to figure out interlock conditions of secure operating system. Process interlock program is accomplished based on sequence control principle. Programmable Logic Controller is chosen to complete the design of control system for many switches are demanded. In process of control system configuration selection, the controllers from Siemens S7-400 series which have dual redundant function are chosen to work. By this hardware configuration, we are able to realize the conversion from coking process to sequential control logic, establishing the operating authority.At the end of the article, the functions of sequential control system are explained and testified by a set of device’s simulation system. This simulation device completely simulates the states of the valves in practical production and it is connected with the inner formation of secure operating system, fully imitating the behaviors of the coke tower in process. Finally, it verifies the secure feature of the sequential control system.The result of the experiment indicates that coke tower safe operation system is able to avoid potential safety hazard caused by wrong operations effectively and it has great practical value in improving condition of the operation and promoting security feature. |
