Stainless steel has excellent corrosion resistance, is widely used in all walks of life. With the high-speed development of the national economy and the improvement of people’s living standards, the demand for stainless steel is increasing. Higher requirements are put forward in the processing accuracy, surface quality and product performance. However, chatter marks will appear on the surface of the roll in the process of grinding. Chatter marks vibration may be induced using the roll with chatter marks in the rolling process, and chatter marks which influence the quality of the steel strip seriously will appear on the surface of the steel strip. The chatter marks steel strip will be reprocessed or cut off, which causes huge economic losses to the enterprise. So it has important theoretical significance and engineering application value to study the chatter marks vibration characteristics caused by the chatter marks on the surface of the roll to identify the chatter marks vibration and change the roll, ensure product quality and improve the economic benefit of enterprise. To ensure the quality of surface of steel strip and improve the production efficiency, this paper mainly analyses the mechanism and influences of inducing the chatter marks on the surface of work roll, and a dynamic model of chatter marks vibration of work roll is established, then the influence of the chatter marks on the work roll on the vibration of work roll. Based on the analysis of the mechanical relationship between the rolls, a dynamic model of level-vertical coupling vibration of twenty-high mill is proposed, revealing the influencing characteristic of the chatter marks on the chatter marks vibration of the mill, and the correctness of the simulation result is verified based on the results of field test. In addition, the influences of the rolling force, tension and speed on the chatter marks vibration are analysed. The main contents are as follows:① Based on regenerative chatter theory, the mechanism of the chatter marks on the surface of roll during grinding is analysed. The factors influencing the chatter marks on the surface of rolls are studied based on dynamic model and finite element model.② Base on the force analysis of the work roll in the process, a dynamic model of work roll with local and through type chatter marks is established, and the influence laws of the chatter marks on the vibration of work roll are studied.③ A dynamic model of level-vertical coupling vibration of twenty-high mill is established, and the influencing characteristic of the chatter marks on the chatter marks vibration of the mill and the influences on the vibration displacement of the rolls the chatter marks passing the steel strip and the first intermediate roll are analyzed. The correctness and availability of the model is verified based on the results of field test.④ Based on the level-vertical coupling vibration dynamic model, the influences of the rolling force, tension and speed on the chatter marks vibration are analyzed, and the influence laws of rolling parameters on vibration characteristics ara obtained.
