At present, no quantitative assessment research work has been performed in China. Hence, the quantized assessment system of salt lake is raised.This paper focus on filtering index and building the assessment frame of brine resource in order to evaluate the comprehensive use of resources and sustaining development of brine industry which is based on combining other mineral assessment methods, considering the present research situation and according to resource feature. The evaluating system is made up of 1 target layer, 4 rule layers, 9 subrule layers and 61 indexes. A hierarchical entropy multi-objective decision analysis model and AHP method is used in this paper which are translate and edit by R language. The potassium and lithium resources are evaluate in this paper, the stage of sustaining development is also confirmed.Based on the whole evaluating system, 30 indexes are chosen in the xitaijinaierhu lake evaluating system. The research result of this paper shows that the combined mark of Xitaijinaierhu Lake is 0.5889 which means the brine resource in Qaidam Basin is still stay in the transitional stage from traditional development to weak sustainable development. The usage level is relatively low. From the point of brine resource usage, the sustainable ability of potassium resource is weaker than that of lithium. The assessment result shows that the value of expert 1, 2, 6, 7 are around 0.4, while the value of expert 3, 4, 5 are above 0.5. The highest assessment value of potassium resource is 0.5653. From point of competencies level of different brine resource, the highest assessment value of lithium is 0.5653, the highest assessment value of potassium is 0.3823, and the difference is relatively high. From the point of four layers value, their difference value is under 0.1, the value of second layer and the fourth layer are relatively high, the resources competition based on the endowment of resources and the impact on society is relatively high, the sustainable ability of salt lake resource should be improved.Based on the above mentioned methods, the advantage and disadvantage while developing brine resource concretely is analyzed, the impact on society, economy and environment are comprehensively evaluated in this paper. Relevant advices are also put forth in this paper.
