Strong aroma type flue-cured tobacco occupies an important position in Chinese style cigarette production, and is favored by the tobacco industry, which makes it an important base of production and supply of high quality raw materials for Chinese tobacco industry. Influenced by the ecological geographical position, the ecological differences are significant among strong aroma type flue-cured tobacco producing provinces. The tobacco quality is strongly influenced by environmental factors and shows different style in different ecological regions. In order to make clear the difference between different areas, flue-cured tobacco leaf samples were collected from tobacco producing areas. This study, based on smoke chemical index of flue-cured tobacco in the past three years, was evaluated via variance analysis and other methods for chemical composition of tobacco smoke and regional distribution was studied via GIS technology. Its main conclusions are as follows:(1) Although Henan Province, Shandong Province, Anhui Province, Shaanxi Province, Hunan Province, Jiangxi Province, Guangdong Province and Guangxi Province were Flue-cured tobacco areas, the smoke characteristics were not the same. Smoke characteristics of different flue-cured tobacco-growing areas were obvious, in addition to smoke nicotine and PH, the rest of the conventional indicators were significant or extremely significant. Specifically, TMP、tar and carbon monoxide content of some areas were higher, while some areas lower.(2) Comprehensive evaluation system of smoke conventional components was constructed, and the top twenty counties was as follows: Nandan, Fuxian, Guiyang, Xunyi, Ningxiang, Chaling, Jiahe, Changle, Jiangyong, Juxian, Zhenan, Wulian, Gaomi, Anqiu, Jianghua, Hengnan, Ruyang, Lushi, Fuchuan, Baofeng.(3) Using factor analysis to evaluate volatile and semi-volatile components of mainstream smoke of strong aroma type flue-cured tobacco. The score of acidic aroma components of Jingxian was the highest; the highest score of neutral aroma components was Baofeng; the highest score of alkaline aroma components was Baofeng. The p H of smoke was closely related to the score of acidic aroma components, and TPM followed by. Nicotine in smoke was in the highest correlation to the score of neutral aroma components, and tar followed by. The sequence of correlation to the score of alkaline aroma components from high to low was the p H of smoke, nicotine, carbon monoxide, tar, TPM and moisture.(4) The trend of regional distribution of different components in mainstream smoke was significant, with high value area and low value area. The regional distribution trend of TMP and tar was clear and consistent. They increased gradually from west to east. A few areas had a high release amount or low release amount emissions, while most of areas were in range of medium to low level. The trend of nicotine in smoke showed a punctuate distribution. The high value area scattered in the southwest of Luonan in Shanxi Province, western Xuanzhou, southern Chizhou in Anhui Province, the northwest of Ji’an, the of northeast Ganzhou in Jiangxi Province, and eastern Hechi in Guangxi Province; the low value regions included Shangqiu, part of western Pingdingshan, the northeast of Zhoukou in Henan Province, and the south of Hengyang Hunan. Carbon monoxide high value area scattered in Jiyuan, northern Sanmenxia, Luoyang, Zhengzhou, Eastern Nanyang, Luohe, Zhumadian in Henan Province, the south of Xuancheng, Huangshan, northern Chizhou and other places in Anhui Province; low value regions included Yanan, Baoji in Shaanxi Province, Yongzhou, Changsha, the northwest of Zhuzhou, Chenzhou in Hunan Province, Hezhou and other areas in Guangxi Province. Moisture in smoke presented lower in the north area than in the south. The high score area of conventional components of mainstream smoke included eastern Yanan, Xianyang, Baoji in Shanxi Province, western Changsha, Hengyang, central Yongzhou, northwest of Chenzhou in Hunan Province, eastern Baise, western Hechi in Guangxi; low score area included southern Zhumadian, eastern Nanyang, Xuchang, Pingdingshan, Luohe in Henan Province, Wuhu, Xuancheng, Huangshan, Chizhou in Anhui Province, the northern Jian and other places in Jiangxi Province.
