At present, there is a lot of research about using supercritical CO2 as a foaming agent to prepare foamed polystyrene, but there are still some problems.Such as the solubility of supercritical CO2 in polystyrene matrix is low, the nucleation efficiency is relatively low, which resulting in expansion ratio is not high, the foam quality is not good. This paper is aiming at these problems. The use of amino carbon nanotubes as filler, the preparation of amino carbon nanotubes / polystyrene foam is discussed. Because of the adsorption of amino of CO2 improve the foaming ratio, so as to improve the quality of foam. And the effect of nucleation of carbon nanotubes, improve the foaming quality.First of all, we use the mixed acid treated carbon nanotubes, so that the active group will be appear on the surface of the nanotube. And then through the esterification reaction, the polyacrylic acid grafted onto the surface of carbon nanotubes. And then the product reacted with PEI, so that the amine grafted onto the surface of carbon nanotube. By Using TG, 1R, TEM and element analysiswe made structure characterization of modified carbon nanotubes. And the adsorption ability of CO2 of modified carbon nanotubes was characterized. Then, the amino carbon nanotubes/PS composite are prepared by solution blending method. We study the thermal stability, the thermodynamic properties, rheological properties and interfacial effect of the composite by using TGA, DMA and scanning electron microscopy. Finally we got amino carbon nanotubes/PS foaming materials by using quick pressure relief of the reactor. We studied the effect of amino carbon nanotubes on the foaming ability, foam morphology and mechanical properties of the foam by using ratio testing, scanning electron microscope, cell size and mechanical properties testing.
