With the continuous development of human society, all kinds of industrial pollution incidents continue to occur, directly or indirectly affect the survival of humanity. Among them, atmospheric monitoring, for example, the major air quality monitoring data to monitor temperature, humidity, sulfides, nitrides, PM10, PM2.5 and so on. Atmospheric monitoring is the basis for environmental protection, and its purpose is to provide the scientific basis of environmental protection. Currently designated polling stations and the central data acquisition system using embedded existence of low precision data acquisition, real-time problems such as poor, can not meet the environmental emergency monitoring or rapid monitoring needs. ZigBee short-range wireless communications network by virtue of the low capital investment, ease of maintenance, network capacity, high data accuracy, good stability, applications of atmospheric monitoring applications become an important research topic.Firstly, studied the technical features of ZigBee technology, Z-Stack protocol stack, network topology and routing algorithm. ZigBee node hardware design aspects, this paper uses TI’s ZigBee wireless communication chip CC2530, completed the data processing nodes, design data communication, data acquisition modules and hardware design part of the energy management improvements have been made.Network topology and routing algorithms are discussed using NS2 simulation and other related tools, pick and choose the optimal topology of ZigBee routing algorithm has been improved, and gives the relevant experiments in NS2 simulation environment data.In this paper, to establish a wireless Atmospheric Monitoring System and small-scale deployment tests. The main simulation software for the large number of nodes, the simulation to test the purpose of data transmission. Meanwhile, the simulation software is also capable of routing algorithm simulation, simulation of network topology.By comparing the experimental data routing algorithm is more suitable for application in atmospheric monitoring under different coverage. Meanwhile, for the atmospheric monitoring node localization and death have special requirements for node checks were discussed and analyzed.
