This article aims to study the method of rational use of hastelloy in manufacturing pressure vessels for chemical industry. It is based on the features of high temperature and high pressure, and various corrosiveness of media in different process conditions of the vessels, combined the excellent corrosion resistance to severe conditions of hastelloy as advanced nickel base alloy.The content, which focuses on the features of hastelloy and combines with the traditional methods of design, manufacture and inspection of chemical equipment, finds out the uniqueness of design, manufacture, etc. of this material in actual use by testing the properties of hastelloy, in order to bring the material into full play and thus apply actually to the equipment in chemical enterprises.By applying the hastelloy to the design of tubesheet strength and structural design in tubesheet heat exchanger, intergranular corrosion resistance inspection of material, type of junction of the material between tubesheet and heat exchanger during manufacturing process, the type of welding groove, welding method and the inspection of the equipment during and after manufacturing, this article describes in detail the overall process of manufacturing the heat exchangers in hastelloy, which made it possible to get good application of foreign high-quality material to pressure vessels in our country. During years’of actual use, this method of design and manufacturing has been tested, which fully meets the need of technological process. The safety and economy of those equipments have been verified as well.
