High solid hydroxyl acrylic resin which contains a small amount of solvent in accordance with the current social development and the environmental protection requirements. Acrylic polyurethane coatings with excellent weather and corrosion resistance, gloss and color retention is strong were widely used in aviation, automobile, building and other fields. Fluorocarbon coatings which were provided with the advantages of prominent anti-sticking unclean and self-clean function, excellent weather resistance and durability has been received extensive attention. In this paper, the fluorine-containing acrylate monomers were added into the hydroxyl acrylic resin to prepare high solid fluorine-containing hydroxyl acrylic resin with excellent hydrophobic property and mechanical properties.Detailed study on the synthesis and performance of the resin and coatingwas made finally.In this thesis, Methacrylic acid(MAA), Methyl methacrylate(MMA), Butylacylate(BA),2-Hydroxyethyl methacrylate(HEMA) were used as the basic monomers and addingdifferent functional monomers such as:VeoVa10(VV-10), Dodecafluoroheptyl methacrylate(G04), Methacrylic acid ethyl acetoacetate(AAEM) to synthesize high solid fluorine-containing hydroxyl acrylic resin by solution polymerization method and the solvent was a mixture of xylene and butyl acetate. The main study was focused on the influence of initiator, chain transfer agent, hydroxyl value, glass state temperature, functional monomers on the properties of the resin, a better synthesis process and formula were determined finally. The results indicated that the dosage of initiator is 4% of the total monomers, content of chain transfer agent is 2% of the total monomers could play the role of reducing the viscosity of resin; the film showed excellent water and solvent resistance when the amount of functional monomers VV-10 was 10%~13% of the total monomers and the amount of AAEM was 4% of the total monomers,we could also control the dosage of VV-10,glass transition temperature and the hydroxyl value of resin to reduce the viscosity of resin, the film show good combination property when the glass transition temperature was set at 20℃, the hydroxyl value of resin set at 92mgKOH/g. The use of G04 could reduce surface free energy of the film and increase water contact angle of the coating film, the optimal dosage was 26% of the total monomers. The acrylic resin was characterized and analyzed by FT-IR,DSC,the results showed that the polymerization carriedoutsmoothly, the acrylicmonomers and the functional monomers reacted completely.By compounding curing agent of polyisocyanate with homemade high solid fluorine-containing hydroxyl acrylic resin, we obtained two-component polyurethane paint. The effect of curing temperature,curing time,amount of catalyst and curing agent on the properties was inspected. The results showed that the cross-linked film had better performance when the curing temperature was 120℃, curing time was 20 min, the amount of catalyst is 0.1% of total solid, the ratio of curing agent and resin was 2:5. The performance of coating film was tested by various testing instrument. The results indicated that the resin had good performance on hardness,water resistance,solvent resistance,hydrophobicity and it has certain practical value. The resin of being cured and uncured was analyzed by FT-IR,DSC and TGA. The results showed that resin and curing agent took cross-linking reaction.
