China’s freshwater resources per capita is extremely scarce. However, with the rapid development of world economy, the city to speed up the process, the increase of population, people’s living standards gradually improve, not only the demand for fresh water resources put forward a new challenge, but more important is the safety of drinking water for the people to protect the health of the national welfare and the people’s livelihood, a top priority.Affected by the reform and opening up, Suzhou’s population growth, productionwastewater and domestic sewage discharged all affect the degree of surface water environment water quality, local industry upstream, in the surface water quality in from bad to worse situation, the protection of drinking water sources is very important.This paper mainly through the investigation and analysis of related data of Suzhou four centralized drinking water sources and water quality data, the source of drinking water quality remained stable overall, the index of general not reflect total nitrogeneutrophication significantly improved, showed a high fluctuation in the comprehensive evaluation. Combined with the investigation and Analysis on the source of drinking water pollution situation, to find the influence reasons, effects of industrial pollution in Taihu Watershed Agricultural non-point source pollution of rural life and the influence ofsediment and total nitrogen, control, agricultural non-point source pollution control and rural life and improve the efficiency of sewage treatment and other aspects of total nitrogen the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions in the river into the lake,for the follow-up of the drinking water source protection or the protection of other drinking water sources to provide a certain reference.
