The Pattern And Comfort Research Of Underpants For Young Male College Students

Underwear is called the second skin layer of human body, and underpants which is close to the body refers to the underwear of lower body. Due to the special male physical zone, most men have a relatively high requirements for the pattern and fitted comfort ability of underpants. After research on college students, it is found that men’s underpants on the market currently can not meet the demand of consumers for underpants’ comfort requirements. Especially for the front crotch of underpants, the structure-handling could directly affect the comfort ability of male physical organs. Although it is the focus in designing fitted pattern of men’s underpants, this physical zone is comparative privacy in the process of measurement, so many companies often use experience size to deal with this.Based on these things, this topic is researched to improve the comfort ability of wearing underpants by analyzing the human body’s comfort influence which is caused by male underpants’ front crotch part.Firstly, the nakedness human data of 215 young male college students are extracted by three-dimensional body measurements in the research. After the statistical analysis of 49 measurements items, the intermediate size of young male students are found, at the same time, seven factors which can fully reflect the overall features of lower body are extracted,and the name of them are named as: horizontal girth factor, height factor, waist-hip distance factor, crotch factor, fullness factor, physiology factor, convex factor.Secondly, through analyzing the structural characteristics of male physiological part,and on the basis of previous theoretical researches, the physiological characterization which can reflect male physical characteristics is optimized and improved, and the the formula of characterize amount is deduced. According to the analysis results, the amount of physiological characterization is related with buttocks thick, straight crotch length and waist-hip distance.Thirdly, after the cluster analysis, 27 measurement items which has the high correlation with crotch-buttocks features of male lower limb are classified into the six categories. And by R-cluster analysis and Pearson correlation analysis, the six characteristic index which can reflect the crotch-buttocks features of young male are extracted. They are hip height, the total length of crotch, hip circumference, hip fullness,transverse physiological characteristics, hip convex. What’s more, after the analysis of variance, the crotch-buttocks features of young male lower limb are divided into 4categories, and the cluster center’s parameters of the characteristic index and the classified number of people are obtained.Fourthly, through the underpants research survey of consumer behavior for 197 young male students, analyzing from the aspects of design and wearing factors, and combined with the discussion of the style and shape characteristics of men’s underpants at present market, the underpants shape and fabrics for research are finalized. What’s more, after testing the elastic properties of materials, the elongation and the deformation rate in the warp and weft direction are obtained.And then, the mannequin size of men’s underpants prototype are determined according to the results of three-dimensional anthropometric data, after the correction of mannequin, the basic mapping method of tight underpants is obtained by the combination way of draping and flat mapping. And the tight underpants pattern of knitted elastic fabric is selected according to elastic properties of underwear fabrics and scaling formula of elastic fabrics. Combining with basic pattern, drawing principle of panties crotch, as well as the relevant theoretical researches, some structure factors which influence underpants pattern are analyzed and discussed. And finally, it is determined that the bottom length of front crotch, convex volume of front crotch, and the back crotch width as the three factors which largely impact the fitted ability of underpants. Through orthogonal Latin square experimental design of the three extracted factors, based on the literature review and the associated body scan data, ultimately the pattern value of 9 experimental underpants which are in the case of three factors and three levels are determined. Then according to the experiment results about pattern detailed parameters, the structure of experimental sample pants are drew, and finally a series of 9 samples of men’s underpants are produced.Lastly, through the subjective and objective experiments of wearing men’s underpants,the structure comfort ability of men’s 9 experimental sample pants in 4 gesture situation are evaluated, and the rank of comfort evaluation level is: Waist> Front Crotch> Buttocks>Bottom Crotch > Side Slit> Thigh, and the pressure floating trends of different lower body parts are also analyzed. Combined with the evaluation results of subjective and objective experiment, the optimal structural parameters combination of crotch comfort, which is in line with the intermediate characteristics of young male college students are obtained: the length of front crotch bottom is 2.5cm, the convex volume of front crotch is 2cm, backcrotch width is 4.5cm, or the length of front crotch bottom is 3cm, the convex volume of front crotch is 1.5cm, back crotch width is 4.5cm. In addition, through the method of gray correlation, the comfortable pressure measure parts of men’s underpants are determined as the waist, buttocks, and front crotch, and the last important thing is that the pressure comfort feeling mold of underpants is established.On the basis of previous theoretical discussions and practical experience, the design principles and methods of male underpants are put forward in this paper. The research findings can provide the theory instruction for underpants design and development, which has certain value and significance in practical production.
