With the increasing of e mi ssions standards and the requirements o f environ me ntal protection legislation, hot gas filtration has been attracting more and more attention in a wide variety of proc esses over the last y ears. T h e develop me nt of adva nced coal based po w er generation techniques such as the pressurized fluidized bed combustion(PFB C) and the pressurized integrated gasification co mbin ed cycles(IGCC) has significantly influenc ed the develop me nt of hot gas filtration. These systems r equire effective particulate removal t o protect t he do wnst ream gas turbine and also to meet environ mental e mission r equiremen ts, hot gas filtration is a basic co mponen t in these s yste ms. As the mo st development potential hot gas filtration equip me nt, candle-shaped ceramic fi lter can be used to cl ear the ultrafine particles 5 μm or less, and th e filtration efficiency can reac h more than 99%, it has a wide ra nge o f applications in che mical plants, oil refineries, incineration, metal s melting, metal recycling industry and advanced p ower gene ration syste ms.Cera mic filter is the most i mp ortant hot gas filtration system equip ment, the filter separate particles and gas by capture the dust particles. In order to extend the service life of the ce ramic filter while en suring the nor mal op eration of the filtration system, it’s necessary to clean the ceramic filter. Filtration and filter cleaning process can be affected b y many el e ments, to design a co mplete filtration syste m we need to consider these factors.This article has des igned a c eramic fil ter which has a 100m3/h processing capabilities, 1.2MPa working pressure, 550 ℃ temperature, and equipped with four candle-shaped ceramic filter. By the thickness calculating and the thermal calculation, combined with the actual conditions, the ceramic filter structure is designed. On the premise of guarantee can meet the test requirements, the filter is designed as concise as possible to streamline their operationsGeometry and Pre/Engineer software is used to build the three-dimensional model of the filter, use ICEM mesh, and then import the Fluent software to start a numerical calculation. Realizable k-e turbulence model is used to simulate the flow field of the ceramic filter, and the ceramic filter section is set to be porous-jump region, the permeability of the surface is set to 5.5×10-1 2m2. Different inlet velocity and inlet way have been simulated, detailed described the situation of filter internal airflow and explain the behavior of the airflow according to the simulation results, base on the condition of inlet air temperature of 800K(526.85℃), and the temperature distribution results of the filter, summarized the influence of temperature field to ceramic filter work process, than give some reference value conclusion to the actual filter application and optimization provides.
