Nitrobenzene, a stable, hard-degraded and bio-toxic pollutant for the environment, is widely used in the chemical, medicine and dyestuff industries. Due to biological toxicity, nitrobenzene influences the performance of anaerobic reactor during the treatment of shock. This experiment studied the treating condition of anaerobic reactor over time during nitrobenzene shock. According to online and offline monitoring, the relationship of monitoring parameters and reactor conditions was analyzed by the treatment data of nitrobenzene. In order to improve treating performance of anaerobic reactor, a indicator was designed to diagnose reactor conditions.(1)Domestication of sludge by nitrobenzene, in the treatment of nitrobenzene effulent, was inhibited methane-producing activity and VFA-changing rate. VFA concentration presented different variation above 600 mg/L nitrobenzene shock. As a consequence, the shock load of anaerobic reactor was 600 mg/L nitrobenzene.(2)According to the existing reaserch, online monitoring equipments were designed for liquid-phase and gas-phase, which could use to monitor the condition of anaerobic reactor during the shock about nitrobenzene and nitrobenzene and heavy metal chromium. Analysis of online and offline detected data, hydrogen partial pressure increased since methane activity was inhibited on the initial time of shock, then VFA concentration occurred accumulation which led to the performance changing of anaerobic reactor. After the degradation of nitrobenzene, the methane inhibition was decreased, the VFA and hydrogen partial pressure decreased and gradually stabilzed. The anaerobic reactor runs stability.(3)For diagnosis of anaerobic reactor state over time druing nitrobenzene shock, two indicators were proposed on the basis of shock experiments:the key indicator "K? can accurately reflect the trend of hydrogen partial pressure change in the gas phase, while a subordination indicator "S" can use to reflect the accumulation trend of acetic acid ratio in the liquid phase.
