Under hydrothermal condition, seven new coordination polymers were synthesized by using carboxylic acid ligands, nitrogen ligands and metal ions.[Zn(cppa)2(4,4’-bipy)]n(CP1);{[Zn(cppa)2(2,2’-bipy)]n-n(2,2’-bipy)}(CP2);{[Zn(3-ptz)2]-4H2O}n (CP3);[Cd(chdc)(4,4’ bipy)]n (CP4);[Cd(cppa)2(phen)]n (CP5);[Mn(cppa)2(phen)]n (CP6);[Cu2Br(4-ptz)3]n (CP7). Their structures and morphologies were characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XRS) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) respectively. Their optical properties are studied by and UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), fluorescence spectrum (PL). Furthermore, their photocatalytic properties were studied under irradiation of UV light.To improve photocatalytic activity of CP1under visible light irradiation, five different transition metal ions (Fe3+, Cr3+, Ru3+, Co2+and Ni2+) were introduced into its framework through an ion-exchange process. They showed favorable photocatalytic properties under the irradiation of ultraviolet light. Among all the resulting transition metal ion doped products, Fe3+products took on the most excellent photocatalytic activity in visible light region. Compared with the coordination polymer with Fe3+as a dopant, products doped with other metal ions presented weaker photocatalytic activities in visible light region.Polyaniline (PANI) was loaded on surface of CP4through in-situ chemical oxidation of aniline on the surface of coordination polymers. Compared with pure coordination polymer photocatalysts, which could decompose RhB merely under UV light irradiation, PANI loaded coordination polymers photocatalyst displayed more excellent photocatalytic activity in visible light region.Five new polyoxometalates (POM) based on compounds were synthesized with and4-ptz,3-ptz,2-4-PyBIm.[Cu2(2-3-PyBIm)4(SiWi204o)](POM1);[Cu6(4-ptz)6][SiW12O40]·H20(POM2);[I(2-4-PyBIm)(PW1204o)]·2H20(POM3);[(2-4-PyBI m)2(PW1204o)]·2H20(POM4);[(2-3-PyBIm)4(SiWi204o)]-H20(POM5). The structures of these compounds were characterized with single crystal X-ray diffraction, XRD,FTIR. The photocatalytic properties of these compounds were studied under irradiation of UV light.
