As a traditional ball mill grinding equipment, Ball Mill has more than100years of history. As a important equipment of the milling industry, with a output high, wide adaptability, reliable operation, easy maintenance, etc., it has been widely used in many basic industries such as metallurgy, chemical, cement, power material crushing.This paper describes the working principle, vibration and vocal mechanism of the ball mill, and its current development status at home and abroad as well as its vibration and noise reduction technology research, combined with an aluminum company Φ3.6m×6.1m dry overflow ball mill, its cylinder carried by force, vibration and noise analysis, and used the ANSYS software to analyze the static structure and dynamic characteristics of the cylinder, draw the structural strength of the ball mill, natural frequency and its amplitude-frequency characteristic curve. On this basis, using a layer of foamed silicone rubber as the base material made of a composite elastic cushion to replace the original cement filler between the liner and the cylinder wall to improve its structural, through which to reduce ball mill vibration and noise. But taking into account the natural frequency of the improved cylinder and the resonance frequency may coincide, therefore, used the ANSYS software to analyze the structure of this improved system.In this paper not only using the traditional theory of numerical calculation method, but using a finite element software to analysis the improved cylinder structure, and study the feasibility of the application of the composite elastic cushion in the ball mill vibration isolation and noise reduction technology, details are as follows:(1) According to the working principle of ball mill with sound and vibration mechanism to simplify its structure, the establishment of the mathematical and physical model and analyze and solve them, obtain the grinding media impact frequency and the force of the Ball Mill cylinder.(2) Using the ANSYS finite element analysis software for structural static analysis and dynamic analysis, obtain the stress distribution in the cylinder and its dynamic characteristics, the maximum stress concentrated in the connection with the cover and bearing, the cylinder of the grinding medium impact frequency close to its natural frequency of the cylinder, it may produce resonance, so this ball Mill need for a structural improvement.(3) Taking into account the dry overflow-ball mill production process nearly200℃high temperature characteristics, this paper adopt an abrasion resistance, impact resistance and good high temperature performance of composite elastic cushion layer, composed by the silicone rubber foam, epoxy and chrysotile. According to their structural characteristics, used the ANSYS finite element analysis software to analyze the improved Ball Mill as a composite laminated structure, comparing the results of the improved structure and the result before, it obtain that the excitation frequency avoid its natural frequency, and it does not cause resonance as well as in the low frequency range while its amplitude is effectively reduced, it proved that the application of the composite elastic cushion is feasible.
