As terminal molding equipment of tire production-line, tire mold, to a great extent, decides the quality and appearance of the tire, and also have an important effect on the traction, braking force and abrasion resistance of the tire. However, tire mold pollution and demoulding difficulty are classic technological problems in preparation of tire industry. Mold pollution can also create many problems, such as vulcanizates unqualified, vulcanizates demoulding difficulty and regular cleaning of mold; seriously affect the tire preparation quality and production efficiency. Therefore to seek an effective method to solve these problems is of great significance.In order to seek an effective solution to the problem of tire mold pollution and demoulding difficulty, this topic mainly in the following aspects of research:(1) Establish characterization model of surface integrity parameters to evaluate the performance of tire mold. In order to prepare high-quality tires, these working performances of tire mold are required: good vulcanizing quality, easy to demould, Anti-sticking, high wear resistance, long service life and easy to clean. Through the tire mold performance analysis to identify the surface integrity parameters which have an impact of performance: roughness(surface topography), elemental composition, coating thickness(fracture surface), the coefficient of friction, hardness, hydrophobicity, and so on. And establish representation model according to these parameters, to obtain qualitative and quantitative characterizations of the tire mold.(2) Design and prepare specimens treated in different method to complete surface integrity parameters measurement. According to the characteristic parameter and the methods of characterization needed to measure in the characterization model, determine that the measurement specimens are mainly departed into three categories: friction and wear measurement specimens(90), SEM specimens(30) and other measurement specimens(30). And these measurement specimens surface are treated by sandblasting, nitriding, polishing, Teflon coating, CrN coating, DLC coating. Provides ample measurement specimens treated in different ways for the surface integrity parameters measurement.(3) Research the influence of different surface treatment method on the composition and structure of tire mold. Different ways of surface treatment have different impacts of surface roughness, surface morphology, cross section structure and surface element compositions on the surface, and different composition and structure lead to different properties of tire mold. Hence the need to measure the composition and structure of different surface treatments, provide a basis for changing the surface properties.(4) The surface properties(hydrophobicity, hardness and elastic modulus, bond strength, friction coefficient, etc.) of specimens surface treated in different method were measured and compared. Seek an optimal surface treatment technology to solve the problem of tire mold pollution and demoulding difficulty. Compare surface properties measured value in different specimens surface treatment method, such as sandblasting, nitriding, polishing, Teflon coatings, CrN coatings and DLC coatings, identify strengths and weaknesses of the different surface treatment processes as well as evaluate the DLC coating application in a tire mold.
