In this paper two kinds of semi-rigid double phosphonate ligand are produced:diphenyl phosphonate ligand L1 and dimethoxy phenyl phosphonate ligand L2. By comparing crystal structure and fluorescent properties of their lanthanides complexes, influence of substituents and configuration of ligands on the structures and coordination properties have been investigated1. Complexes of lanthanides and the ligands have been synthesized. Structural characterizing by single crystal X-ray diffractions is analyzed. There are several types of crystal structures with different coordination mode and ligand configuration.2. The absorption and emission spectra of Sm3+, Eu3+, Tb3+ and Dy3+ complexes have been measured. Characteristic absorption and emission wavelength of the lanthanide ions are indentified. The fluorescent properties of complexes are compared between different lanthanide ions and ligands. The especial absorption at about 300 nm of L1-Tb3+ complex is considered as a result of rotation and energy transfer from ligand to ions.3. Viscous liquids of the La3+ and Ce3+ complexes with the ligands are discovered. Fibers of these complexes are produced using electrostatic spinning and are observed with a scanning electron microscope. Complex films made of these fibers are sintered and the products are definite by XRD and SEM, which display a same Ln:P ratio with the complex crystals.
