Developed in late nineteenth century and early twentieth century,welding technology, as one of the many important metal processing technologies, has been widely used in various infrastructure sectorswith the updating of power electronic technology, intelligent control technology, computer technology and communication technology.However, the current automation of domestic welding equipment and systems still stay in a low level, leaving the drawbacks of cable monitoring and lack of digital applications in welding production management and the quality of supervision and monitoring; The relevant personnel is difficult to monitor the welding process in real-time, resulting in dispersion of welding data, difficulty of keepingtrack of the effective information and analysis of record, the traceability of welding parameter is poor as well. To solve these problems, combined with the anvantage that digital welding power source is more potential for development than the analog power supply, firstly, this paper builds the platform of digital welding power source, of which the digital control system usesTMS320F28033 DSP chip as the control core. These provide a good foundation for the realization of the welding monitoring and control process.In order to improve the welding quality and speed up the process of the intelligent welding technology and realizewireless monitoring of weld quality and controlling of welding process, then this paper designed a welding online monitoring system based on Bluetooth 4.0. The relevant hardware and software design was carried out in the wireless communication module, main control board and PC to realize theinformatizationtechnology and digitization of the welding process parameters and weld management. System used a custom welding parameter and command communication protocol to solve the problem ofstable and reliable wireless data transmissionbased on Bluetooth 4.0 protocol stack. The multi thread design method was used in PC software on MFC platform provided by VS 2010. The paper also used SQL Server database to achieve preservation of process parameters, query of information and analysis of data and so on, providing the basis for the analysis of welding quality, according to the test results, the system is stable and reliable. The system not only promotes the intelligent and networked development of welding equipment and welding process, but also reduces the production cost, the welding quality problems can be reduced greatly, making the industry devolop toward informatization and integration.
