Coated textile is one sort of conventional textile which coated by a layer of paint, this paintcan be polymer materials providing additional function for products such as waterproof,windproof, breathable, vapor transmission,UV protection, flame retardant and more comfortableetc. Which can increase enormously it’s added value. In the mean time, improving the physicaland mechanical properties. Coated textile have been used in various of field in China. With it’sapplied range is expanding, the demand of detection about coated textile is in need urgently, oneof them is the fiber content detection of coated textile.This article aims to explore, on the basis of existing standards, an accurate, fast and concisemethod which can be used for quantitative detection of coated textile. The influence caused by thecoated material in the protection process is so strong to exceed the maximum permissible errorwhich will leading wrong results, so other detection way have to be find. The optimized means isto dissolve the coating piece with corresponding chemical first, meanwhile will not dissolvingmuch fiber in the textile, and then analyses the ingredient of the fabric according to the existingstandards.In the early qualitative analysis phase, the Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy is veryuseful for sorting coated agent category with FTIR-ATR accessory. With diverse results, tested atdifferent temperatures upon different sample withe distinct coating agent, we will draw aconclusion about the most effective dissolving agent to it’s corresponding coating agent. Inaddition to this, a series of control experiments carried out under the same test conditions isneeded to research modified coefficient so that the experimental results could be more reliable.Besides, further study has been focused on the fabric’s physical and mechanical properties, effectsbrought by the coating agent.Classification and characteristics of coated textile has been included in this article, thedescription about it’s history and economical prospect in China also has been made. After testingand analysis, the change of textile’s properties are founded between after coating and before, mostof them are improved especially wear resistance. On the other hand, it make something importantto the product worse such as drapability and it is ineluctable.It is proved that the effective dissolving agent for PU should be DMF, DMAC and DMSO;the effective dissolving agent for PVC should be DMAC and Cyclohexanone; the effectivedissolving agent for PAshould be DMAC, DMSO and Cyclohexanone. At the same time, the most effective dissolving agent for PU would be DMF, the most effective dissolving agent for PVCwould be Cyclohexanone, the most effective dissolving agent for PA would be DMAC. Somechemical can be a very good dissolving agent for PU, PA and PVC all such as DMF. A basiceffective detection way for fiber content of coating textile must be found, using experience of existstandard for textile will be a easier and preciser approach. So dissolving the coating part cover ontextile first would be a scientific and reasonable method.
