Aluminum alloy has a series of advantages and it’s widely used in aerospace, automotive and other fields. Al-Zn-Mg-Cu super-high strength aluminum alloys areimportant aviation structural materials, often used in the manufacture of large load-bearingstructures such as girder, purlin, strengthening box etc.In this paper, the hot deformation behavior of7050al alloy is investigated by hotcompression tests in the temperature range of523-723K and the strain rate ranging from0.001s-1to10s-1.The flow curves are analyzed. The effect of deformation parameters onthe flow behavior of aluminum alloy is studied by mathematical analysis methods. Andthe constitutive equation is established.Based on Dynamic Material Model theory, processing maps of7050aluminum alloyunder different strain are respectively established using Prasad criterion and Murtycriterion. The metallographic microstructures of the compressed samples are observed andDSC test is conducted to analyze the hot processing maps, from which the scope of theoptimized forging processing parameters is acquired. Then, the structure characteristics of the upper edge are analyzed and a forgingforming process route is designed. The processing parameters are chosen according to theprocessing maps. The finite element analysis software DEFORM is adopted to simulatethe forming process of the upper edge. Hot processing maps are used to analyze theforming process of the upper edge. The results show that the forging forming processroute is suitable and the hot processing maps are applicable.
