The macromolecular monomer was prepared by maleic anhydride andpolyethylene glycol as raw materials. Series of comb-style carboxylic dispersantswere synthesized by the macromolecular monomer, acrylic acid and methylmethacrylate through radical polymerization with different monomer ratio. Bychanging the single variable and the application in the600g/L imidacloprid aqueoussuspension concentrate.the differences among dispersants with different monomerratio were compared and the effect of the structure of the polymer on the aqueoussuspension system was evaluated.The structure of the copolymer dispersants were conifrmed by FT-IR and’H-NMR,and the hydrophile lipophile balance value of the four dispersants (M9、M10、Mil、M12)were16.7、15.8、14.5、13.4, and critical micelle concentration were2.95g/L、2.65g/L、2.32g/L,2.13g/L.The antifreeze glycol (5%) and thickeners aluminum silicate (0.3%) and xanthangum(0.1%)were elected. The relationships between dispersant dosage and SCviscosity,Zeta potential were discussed, and the conclusion was that when the dosageof dispersant was6%, the600g/L imidacloprid aqueous suspension concentrate hadthe lowest viscosity, and the maximum absolute Zeta potential. So that6%was theoptimum amount in the formulation, and this moment the adsorption of dispersantwas close to saturation and the electrostatic repulsion between particles reached themaximum value, and therefore the system is the most stable.The effects of four dispersants on rheological properties of600g/L Imidaclopridof aqueous suspensions were investigated. The results showed that the systems wereall pseudoplastic fluid and the rheological curves were in accordance withHerschel-Bulkley rheological model of these four kinds of aqueous suspension.Andthe viscosity index K of the Mil was the minimum, which indicating that the systemhad the minimum viscosity and the best liquidity. In addition its had a yield valueAccording to the comparison of the suspension rate, particle size and storage stability, the results showed that the homemade dispersant and commercially availabledispersant TERSPERSE2500had fairly performance. Meanwhile the effect ofpesticide from different manufacturers on the performances of ofrmulation wascompared, the different levels of impurities in pesticide had a great inlfuence on theperformances.
