| The properties of activated carbon may be changed during stripping process with high temperature and pressure, such as wear and tear, chalking and other properties. Which have a significant influence on the CIP process. Investigation on the properties of activated carbon has guidable meaning to the plant application. Therefore, In this paper, we studied the change of activated carbon’s properties in high temperature and pressure stripping process.This article sums up the relative research on the properties of activated carbon in the CIP. Autoclave is used to simulate the carbon stripping with high temperature and pressure to do the experimental research on the properties of activated carbon.The experimental study shows that the content of calcium in gold-loaded carbon is5.5%, the amount of carbon powder increases significantly in the stripping process, reaching2.08%, the adsorption capacity and adsorption rate of carbon is only half of the new carbon. The calcium content should be controlled below1.0%,then the adsorption capacity can be recovered effectively, the amount of carbon powder increases with increasing of desorption time in the stripping process, when the desorption time is20h, the rate of carbon powder produced by cycle carbon is3.5%in the stripping process, new carbon is0.7%. when the content of NaOH is4%in stripping solution, mechanical strength of desorption carbon decrease to93.17%, the carbon powder produced in stripping process is about2times compared with the content of NaOH is1%. After using three cycles, the properties of activated carbon decrease obviously, the mechanical strength of carbon decrease to94.18%, producing carbon powder is3.43%in stripping process, the adsorption properties are only about45%in comparison with new carbon. It has to be processed by thermal regeneration.Aiming at the gold-loaded carbon of high silver, compare the three high temperature and pressure stripping process which are one section desorption, two section desorption and stripping after acid leaching on carbon from the energy consumption, the property of activated carbon, the rate of gold and silver elution. the results showed that stripping after acid leaching is a better method to promote the recovery of properties of gold-loaded carbon of high silver. The change of activated carbon’s properties has been studied in high temperature and pressure stripping process in this paper. The results revealed the factors that influencing the change of activated carbon’s properties, and found a good method to promote the recovery of properties of gold-loaded carbon of high silver. |
