In recent years, manufacturing industry maintain its strong growth with the rapid development of economy and forging industry play a decisive role in basic industry. However, the advent of new material and the use of new product technology have challenged the traditional forging industry. Because of its fixed output characteristics, the traditional mechanical press which is one of the most main forging equipments isn’t able to satisfy the requirements of high precision and multifunction any more. The high-performance mechanical press which can satisfy all these new requirements is badly in need.With the available technology of servo-controlled system, the use of AC servo motor is becoming increasingly wider and deeper. It leads to the appearance of the new servo press that drove by servo motor directly. Because of its high technology, high precision and high production efficiency, servo press become the new high-tech product, at the same time, it brings a significant promotion to entire forging industry.This subject comes from the Graduate workstation of YANGLI Group whose items of development design of the SDP-160F prototype, it’s a single toggle press drove by servo motor, and took the main transmission of the servo press for further research. At first, all sorts of main transmission systems both at home and abroad were compared. After that, we chose one of the transmission schemes for developing a medium-and-small sized servo press. What’s more, the function parameter of the servo press was worked out for its project design, at the same time we designed the structure and parameter of the transmission which based on the function parameter. Then, verified the transmission system’s feasibility and the function parameter’s accuracy though the calculation and simulation of kinematics of transmission system. Under the requirements of body designing of press, the analysis of dynamic statics about the body was given which is in order to reduce its weight and manufacturing costs after meeting the requirement of stiffness.Next, tested the bottom dead center of the press, which found our press got stuck when its operation. Therefore, worked out a self-locking analysis of its transmission for optimizing the structure parameter one more time that to make sure the normal operation and use of the press. At last, it made a summary and proposed prospect. This thesis is a valuable experience and theory reference for the design and manufacture of the new press in our country.
