| With the accelerating rate of rural road construction, the scale of road main-tenance in rural areas is also growing, it is also increasingly important for the conservation management of rural roads., The current outstanding problems faced by rural highway custody is the low efficiency of the update information collection, management and maintenance inconvenience, lack of historical data comparison, so looking for a quick, low-cost, visualization, lightweight of rural road information update and collection program is worthy of study.Currently appearing in the field of highway custody issues, automated road information updating and collection, visualization management of highway information has become the new direction of Highway Maintenance Management. In this paper, the characteristics of rural road maintenance, based on the information construction of rural roads proposed data collection and use needs, System design perspective is to reduce development and maintenance costs. Using targeted hardware built rural road real information collection platform, through a combination of computer technology, the development of video technology, database technology, GIS secondary development of technology and other means to design and implement the research and development of video-based rural roads Geographic Information Collection System. Specific research includes the following sections:First proposed a real lightweight rural highway information management scheme. Rural Road characteristics and conservation situation is analyzed, and then around the highway real management significance of conservation for discussion, in accordance with the development of the mainstream of the road information collection technology for road dioramas constructed realization method of analysis, including CAD three-dimensional digital model,3D modeling, laser scanning, after analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of different methods, targeted lightweight proposed solutions and implementation.Secondly we built the rural road information collection hardware platform based on image. Hardware platform design and development methods are introduced, for rural roads actual proposed information collection content require-ments, according to needs analysis related hardware performance characteristics, select the data collection is good coordination, convenient power supply, install and flexible hardware combinations wiring, complete collection platform functional design, implement design functions by means of GIS.And then proposed location of the data acquisition and image matching storage of information collection system, and programming the image management systems. Determine the system design data management solution, through the establishment of a video image with reference to the relationship between the spatial position of the acquisition of road, implement data management system on the interactive retrieval and visualization.Finally, we developed and validated the entire hardware and software platform Experimental design,Verification system for data collection and management efficiency, analysis of experimental results provide reference for system improvements and extensions.
