Geological Characteristics And Ore - Controlling Factors Of Dazhuyuan Bauxite Deposit, Guizhou

Bauxite, one of the most important ore resources for industry development, is a general term of gibbsite, boehmite and diaspore. The bauxite reserve of Guizhou province is very rich, which can be ranked the fourth in China. The bauxite beds of Dazhuyuan are located at Wuzhengdao district of north Guizhou province. The bauxite resource in this district is relatively richer and ore exploration has been carried out. Based on the collection of related literature concerning indoor and field work of geological exploration, the ore genesis and ore-forming rule of Dazhuyuan bauxite have been discussed with technologies of multiple disciplines (Geological, geophysical, chemistry, remote sensing, etc.) in this paper. Finally, the indicator for deposit has been proposed and metallogenic model has been established. The main results in this paper are as follows:(1) The emergence strata of Dazhuyuan bauxite mainly include the Lower Silurian Hanjiadian Group (S1hj), Upper Carboniferous Huanglong Formation (C2h), Dazhuyuan Formation (C2d), Mid-Upper Permian and Lower Triassic Yelang Formation, Maocaopu Formation and few Quaternary.(2) The only occurrence layer in this bauxite deposit is Dazhuyuan Formation (C2d). The orebody is on the northern Liyuan syncline and on the two sides of east and west. And it is a continuous orebody with lamellar and quasi-lamellar attitude. The attitude almost consists with the attitude of stratum and is often stable. The distribution of bauxite is strictly controlled by Liyuan syncline.(3) The thickness of orebody varies little and is relatively stable with the variation coefficient of 48.97%. The thickness ranges from 1.22 m to 4.18 m with an average of 2.06m.(4) The content of Al2O3 in orebody generally ranges from 41.05% to 79.49% with an average of 63.99%. The variation coefficient is 10.54% and the grade variation is relatively stable.(5) The mineral composition in this bauxite mine is simple. Diaspora is the main mineral. The texture of ore includes clastic texture, micrite, powder crystal and pisolitic or oolitic texture. The main texture is semi-earthy and massive.(6) The deposit is formed in the sedimentary environment of coastal marsh. The genesis of deposit is paleocrust of weathering sedimentary pattern. The source of ore-forming substances is mainly from the mud shale of Hanjiadian Group (S1hj) and few from the limestone of Upper Carboniferous Huanglong Formation (C2h).
