In this paper, Kunming Song Chinese dam reservoir five vegetation communities forthe study, through field investigation and laboratory tests, using multiplecomparison method, principal component analysis, fractal theory, fuzzymathematical method and other methods to construct the evaluation system, drawnfive vegetation community strengths and weaknesses of the sort of waterconservation in order to provide the scientific basis for the scientific understandingof vegetation and water protection strategies hydrological features of the area. Themain findings are as follows:(1) under different forest vegetation communities with increasing bulk density of soildepth increases. Caused by differences in soil bulk density and surface litter forestreserves and its decomposition condition related.(2) five kinds of soil organic matter in different forest types mean sort of deciduousbroad-leaved forest> evergreen and deciduous broad-leaved forest> deciduousbroad-leaved coniferous forest> evergreen broadleaf forest> coniferous forest, thissort and dry reserves related to litter, but also illustrates the deciduous forest littereasily decomposed humus after litter of organic matter can provide sufficient surfaceconducive to the formation of voids and non-capillary pores voids, thus improvingthe soil layer water-holding capacity.(3) calculate the five vegetation communities in soil nutrient score order: evergreenbroad-leaved forest (59.02)> deciduous broad-leaved coniferous forest (48.53)>coniferous forest (45.32)> deciduous forests (44.27)> evergreen and deciduousbroad-leaved mixed forest (37.55).(4) calculate the five vegetation communities the ability to score water conservationorder: evergreen and deciduous broad-leaved mixed forest (0.5784)>evergreenbroad-leaved forest (0.4862)> deciduous forests (0.4662)> mixed coniferous anddeciduous broadleaved Lin (0.2826)> coniferous forest (0.1564).
