As a typical coal resource city, Jining provided great energy to support the national economic development. However, this city also suffers significant ecological environmental damages due to coal mining. Massive land subsidence is one of the most ecological environment problems, which had serious influence on the ecological environment, regional economic development and local production and life in the mining area. Therefore, on the base of city’s natural conditions, distribution of mining and collapsing areas and ecological environment and economic development situation to restore and reconstruct ecological environment in collapse areas has become an urgent problem influencing economic and social development in Jining. At present kinds of methods are adopted to reclaim subsidence areas^such as leveling shallow layers of subsidence areas, filling up shallow parts by digging earth in the depth of subsidence areas, filling up concave parts by removing convex parts and pre-filling method. All of these have obvious effects on improve situation of local subsidence. Nevertheless, these methods could not to improve macro-subsidence without comprehensive planning. This paper will make forecast about the condition of coal-mining subsidence area in the future based on the analysis of present situation, the distribution, collapse intensity of coal-mining subsidence in Jining, pointing out the existing problems in the improvement of subsidence land of coal extraction and putting forward the idea about comprehensive treatment of subsidence land which is characterized by wide region, large-scale, macro-ecology with subsidence land in Jining as the whole ecological system.Based on the theories of the sustainable development and ecological environment, combined with natural and social conditions as topography and geomorphology and humanistic culture in Jining, subsidence areas will be divided into three parts for treatment which are Northwest Part (filling up subsidence with silt from Yellow River), Southern Part (filling up subsidence with silt withdrawn from lake), Middle-Eastern Part (restoration of ecology for tourism). In particular, the Middle-Eastern Part will be described detailed due to its typical characteristics. An instance (Tai Ping mining area in Zoucheng city) is selected from Middle-Eastern Part and used to represent its characteristics. With this case, the rationality and feasibility of this research is verified. It can be as a good reference for Jining government in the reconstruction of mining subsidence in the future.
