When the earthquake hits,It can produce various types of seismic waves. The seism-ology theory indicates that Rayleigh wave’s energy is primary far away from the seismicfocus. For the non-seismogenic faults, it is difficult to get comprehensive simulationanalysis because of it’s complex conditions. Seismic response analysis of site with faultsunder Rayleigh wave is a very important subject. Building the two-dimension site modelsby the software ABAQUS, dynamic analysis of ground motion with non-seismogenicfaults is performed using Rayleigh wave input method based on a viscous-spring artificialboundary. The analysis mainly contains three aspects: The wedge shaped faults and thesame conditions of vertical faults are compared; In addition, the wedge-shaped faultswith various width and depth are studied. The main work of this paper are as follows:(1) Discussing the influence factors of seismic response with non-seismogenic faults, summing up the seismic response analysis methods of ground motion and presenting thestudy and the work of this paper.(2) The wave input methods for viscous-spring artificial boundary, Two-dimensionsite models are established by the analysis software ABAQUS. The usage of the commonartificial boundaries are given. Using the FORTRAN language, a subroutine was writtenwhich is suitable for Rayleigh wave input of viscous-spring artificial boundary. Finally, the accuracy is verified by the calculation of Rayleigh wave field in the homogeneouselastic half space.(3) Researching the seismic response analysis of ground with the faults including thefault fracture zones. According to the knowledge of known faults, a large number ofnon-seismogenic faults’models are established. the wedge shaped faults and the sameconditions of vertical faults are compared, the seismic response of wedge shaped faultsincluding various width and depth are studied under Rayleigh wave input. Based on theFast Fourier Transform(FFT) the incidence point of spectrum curve is given, Then otherparticles’ spectrum curves are obtained by the transfer functions, Finally getting anyparticles’displacement curves of time history. The seismic response properties are given by the particle displacement curves of time history or velocity curves.
