Based On Rural Energy Consumption Patterns Farmer Livelihoods

Due to the development of rural tourism,the livelihood and energy consumption of local farmers have changed a lot in the rural tourist destination which relys on the resources and environment.In order to have a good knowledge of this transformation which takes an important role in the tourism impact, we establish the research ideas of "rural tourism development-farmers livelihood changes-optimization of farmers’ energy eco-economic system in mountainous rural tourism destination". Based on the farmers’survey data of Jinsixia rural tourist destination, this research analyses the energy consumption structures and comprehensive benefits of farmers who have different types of livelihood strategy. Then, from the livelihood perspective, the impact factors and driving mechanism of farmers’energy consumption patterns transformation are identified. The results are as following:(1)Farmers’ livelihood diversity level have an impact on the energy consumption diversity level, the latter will raise as the former’s goes up inside the non-tourism enterprises and tourism enterprises;(2)For tourism enterprises, the end use of energy consumption is to satisfy the tourists demands. Solar energy, coal, electricity have replaced firewood to varying degrees in boiling water,cooking and heating. And the commercial energy consumption of tourism enterprises increases greatly, the new energy extended quickly and the traditional energy consumption decreases, which carry the development of farmers’ energy consumption patterns forward to the development of the optimization and commercialization;(3)Nowadays,the purpose of farmers’ energy consumption is transforming from meeting their own needs to satisfying the needs of tourists, and the comprehensive benefits of energy use increases significantly,which plays an important role in promoting regional social and economic development and improving the ecological environment.Relative to the non-tourism enterprises,the comprehensive benefits of tourism enterprises’energy consumption modern increase significantly.(4)Physical capital, human capital and financial capital are the main factors affecting the farmers’ energy consumption pattern. The housing area, number of durable consumer goods, labour quantity, family size, education level of family members and the family annual income are the key factors affecting rural energy consumption patterns.Farmers livelihood changes which are brought about by the tourism development are the important driver leading to the farmers’ energy consumption transformation in rural tourism destination. To further improve the policy environment and optimize the energy utilization, this paper puts forward the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions. First and foremost, we should develop pro-poor tourism to guide the farmer’ labor force throwing themselves into the tourist industry.Then, improve the farmers’ economic state and enrich farmers’ livelihood strategy and assets based on this.Also, strengthening the construction of rural energy is very necessary.
