| Building a harmonious socialist society was put forward to be asignificant strategic in the new period by the Chinese government. In thereport of the eighteenth National People’s Congress of the communistparty of China, to improve people’s living standard has been set as animportant task for building a well-off society in an all-round way, at thesame time, we should narrow the gap in income distribution, expand themiddle-income groups and reduce poverty. Narrowing the urban-ruralincome gap is the basic way to expand domestic demand. Now, in thethree ways to growth the economy, our exports and investment are hard tomaintain a high growth, the economic growth must rely more onconsumption, so increasing the income of residents, especially ruralresidents income has become the premise of expanding consumption.Prime minister Li Keqiang conferenced in the12th session of theNational People’s Congress for the second time that We will reform theincome distribution system deeply and do our best to narrow theurban-rural income gap. Based on this, this paper defined the rural labortransfer, described the educational level, industry and region of transfersbetween rural labors in Gansu province, and compared the source of Percapita disposable income for both urban and rural residents. Calculatedthe number of rural labor transfer and the urban-rural income gap. Thenanalyzed with OLS and robust MM estimation from three perspectives:the influence of rural labor transfer to urban per capita disposable income,per capita income of rural residents and the urban-rural income gap. Theresult shows that although the model is slightly different with differentmethods, there conclusions are the same: the rural labor transfer haspositive impact to urban and rural resident income and narrowed theurban-rural income gap at the same time. In the end, a conclusion was drawn according to the empirical analysis, and put forward somesuggestions so as to improve the rural resident income, thus narrowingthe urban-rural income gap to build a well-off society in an all-round wayof the grand goal. |
