Research On The Trend Of The Evaluation About Economic Contribution To Liaoning Province Produced By Liaoning Ports

It is universal law for the development process between port and its hinterland that the city and port get mutual prosperity and development together. Port depends on its hinterland area to achieve progress, in turn, the development of the port promotes the prosperity of the city. With the generation development of port, the relationship between port and regional economy becomes closer. Therefore, it is of great importance to evaluate the economic contribution on the hinterland by the port in a rational way, and set out a scientific port development plan to boost the contribution for regional economic development and achieve coordinate development between port and regional economy.Firstly, this thesis introduced the connotative meaning of port, port logistics and regional economy, the interaction between port and regional economics, and the direct, indirect and induced economic contribution on the hinterland areas produced by port. Secondly, it has analyzed the developing situation of Liaoning port group and Liaoning province, as well as the evolution process of the economic developing relationship between Liaoning port group and Liaoning province. Next, it has assessed the economic contribution on Liaoning province by Liaoning port group in the year of2002and2007respectively by compiling the input-output table of port. According to the practical situation of port operations, its main business is classified to the industry of water transportation, handling and other transit services, railway transportation, highway transportation, warehousing and construction. Based on this, it has built a transforming coefficient matrix, and made the input-output table including port industry by calculating. On the basis of the input-output table, it has gained the direct, indirect and induced economic contribution value to Liaoning province by Liaoning port group in the year of2002and2007by combining the input-output method and multiplier method. Meanwhile, on the basis of the two-year macro contribution, it has conducted a comparative analysis of the economic development contribution on Liaoning province by Liaoning port group. Finally, it makes future prospect about the contribution rate on the economic development of Liaoning province by Liaoning port group through the method of qualitative analysis.
