Nowadays, the organization of family business is pervasive all over theworld and plays significant role in promoting national economic development,technological innovation and providing more employment opportunities. Sincethe implement of the reform and opening up policy, family business hasunprecedentedly developed in China and became an important force in boostingChinese social and economic advance. His growth issues are also increasinglybecoming a vital direction of Chinese social and economic activities and attractwidespread attention in the business community and academia. However, mostof them analyzed the issue of family businesses growth from the perspectives ofthe enterprise internal resources and capabilities, and neglected the issues interms of utilizing relational capital and network organizational learning toimprove performance and growth of family business by establishing the formalor informal network relationship.Enterprise network has significance in helping the family business obtainthe necessary resources, reducing transaction costs and risks, and enhancinginnovation capability. So family business shows the network growth trend indynamic and complicated commercial environment. In addition, theestablishment of stable and permanent relationship on trust and mutual benefitsamong the network members is beneficial for the formation of relational capital.Relational capital helps family business acquire new competitive advantage,make it easier for them to adapt to the changed environment, resist external risksand ensure the coordinated development in terms of common goals. In the era ofknowledge economy, knowledge and information are key resources for businessgrowth. Network organizational learning is a good way of acquiring knowledge,improving innovation ability and competitive advantage for family business.Therefore, this paper studies the relationship between relational capital,network organizational learning and the growth of family business by takingfamily firms in Chongqing as research subjects.According to reading a large amount of relavant literature, the paper putsforward hypothesis and constructs a conceptual model related to relationshipcapital, network organizational learning and the growth of family business. Atfirst, this paper studies the impact of relationship capital on the growth of family business. Then, the intermediary role of network organizational learningexisting in the relationship between relational capital and family businessgrowth are considered. After collecting the relevant data of168familyenterprises in Chongqing through questionnaires, this paper uses regressionanalysis and correlation analysis methods to test the theoretical model andassumptions, conclusions of this article can be got:1) The relational capital hasan obvious positive impact on the growth of the family business.2) Therelational capital has an obvious positive impact on network organizationallearning.3) Network organizational learning (innovation) has an obviouspositive impact on the growth of the family business.4) Innovation plays partlyan intermediary role in the relation between relational capital and the growth offamily business.5) The control variable, firm size has a significant positiveeffect on the growth of the family business.Finally, taking jointly into account empirical results and the actualsituation of the family business in China, the paper proposes policy suggestionsin terms of the improvement of the family business growth from the corporateperspective and the government perspective, and puts forward prospects forfuture research by considering limitations and shortcomings of this article.
