A Research On The Improvement Of Travel Company Y Performance Appraisal

Chinese tourism industry has entered into a golden development period in recent years, but consumption in business trip has declined evidently. Under the circumstance, all the tourism enterprises are faced with an increasingly intense market competition, which comes up with great challenges to human resource management in tourism enterprises. Performance appraisal, an important part of performance management, is the core of human resource management. Effective performance appraisal helps to identify employees’ achievements, improve their ways of working, increase their work efficiency and promote enterprises’ economic benefit ultimately.The thesis takes Company Y as the object of study, helps Company Y solve some existing problems in performance appraisal based on the analysis on its performance appraisal, and presents corresponding suggestions on improvement. Meanwhile, I hope my thesis will be of a reference for other tourism enterprises to improve their work on performance appraisal.The thesis starts with introductions on connotation and characters of performance, concept and theories of performance appraisal and methods, and then introduces the profile of Company Y and analysis on its current performance appraisal to bring up a frame of performance appraisal based on the status quo of the company management. Afterwards, balanced score card (BSC) and key performance indicators (KPI) are applied in Company Y. The thesis focuses on the introduction of the design of KPI and the proposals on employees’ performance appraisal, the utilization of the appraisal results and corresponding supporting measures and systems. At last, the thesis presents a conclusion and offers the relevant guiding significance.
