Chinese vegetable production has a long history, since the formation of the traditional diet, determines the vegetables play an important role in China’s agricultural industry. Since the reform and opening up, after30years of development, the rapid growth of Chinese vegetable industry, in2011more than food industry has become China’s first agricultural products, vegetable export volume ranks farming products in China for the first time, become an important industry in China’s balance of agricultural trade deficit. Vegetable industry has now become the pillar industry the majority of vegetable production area of agricultural economic development in China, the increase of farmer’s income, promote rural employment increasingly prominent position. But on the other hand, in recent years, showing unsalable phenomenon more and more, that by the insufficient supply of vegetable production in China gradually to the supply and demand balance even local, seasonal surplus stage of development, it is necessary to study the development trend of China’s vegetable industry, continue to promote the development of vegetable industry stable and healthy.This paper first reviews the development of vegetable production in China, a detailed analysis of the development of vegetable industry in China and the characteristics of the data show that since the founding of new China, our country since2003, the vegetable industry over high-speed expansion period, in recent years into a slow steady growth, the scale of growth centers gradually transfer to the western region, the future of our country vegetable industry is still to maintain a low growth trend.It mainly studies the last stage of China’s planting structure adjustment trend. Through the output concentration index calculated in China after2003and planting scale, industry concentration tends to diverge. And through the comparative advantage index,2001-2011of Chinese comparative advantage index of the calculation, analysis of the regional comparative advantage change trend, since2003the scale advantage index in developed regions led by Shandong and comprehensive advantage index were decreased, the reason is that since2003introduction of the national policy support food production. And the southeast coastal areas, and western regions most provinces after2003, scale advantage index and comprehensive advantage index showed a growth state, through the analysis, the region’s growth mainly lies in the export of guided. Therefore, the Chinese vegetable industry to export-led from the development phase to meet domestic demand.Data show that China’s accession to the WTO, the rapid development of vegetable export, but on the other hand, since2004, China entered the era of agricultural products, vegetable industry has become an important industry in China to balance the trade of agricultural products. In this paper, a detailed analysis of China’s export forms, analyzes the change of the structure of export products in China, this paper will focus on several major categories, with Italy, Mexico, the United States of America, Holland as a reference, determine the competitiveness index change trend. The calculation results show our country appears in six kinds of vegetables the comparative advantage of the decline in the overall trend, but Short-term preserved vegetables and Vegetables Dehydrated still has a revealed comparative advantage, and vegetables frozen and Vegetables Preserved Nes, still has its advantages, but not in the leading position, while Vegetables in Vinegar and Vegetables Fresh Nes revealed comparative advantage in a weak position.With the previous analysis, the development direction of China’s vegetable industry at this stage should realize the transition from quantity to quality, pure comparative advantage based on scope to competitive advantage, so was selected to the rapid development of the characteristics vegetable industry from2000-Fujian Yongan lettuce industry case, compared to the comparative advantage foundation, more important the competitive behavior of peasants and the government, changed comparative advantage into competitive advantage, make Yongan become the main producing areas in China lettuce, have certain reference significance to the current our country rural specialty vegetable industry.Finally, summarizes the research content, the Chinese vegetable industry tends to be export strategy, support the development of the western region, strengthen planting cultivation, the development of vegetable industry characteristics suggest.
