Economic globalization have been got extensively development in the21st century, countries around the world are actively utilizing both domestic and international markets and resources to stimulate economic increasing. China is faced with the appreciation of the RMB, the excess reserves, the rising of labor costs and a growing number of trade frictions with developed countries and other issues. Foreign direct investment have provided good way to solve these problems, which is an important element of China’s "go out" strategy, in the other hand, which create a new approach for China’s enterprises to acquire more market opportunities, track advanced production technology and management method.The development of foreign direct investment is very late in China, but the increment is striking. From2002to2012, the value of foreign direct investment increased from$2.7billion to$87.8billion, a compound annual growth rate of41.6%. China have become the world’s third-largest outward investor only spend a dozen years so that draw much attention to investigate China’s foreign direct investment. We want to know which stage, characteristic and potential problems in China’s foreign direct investment and what strategies and measures should be taken to facilitate its healthier and more effective. Researching on these issues provided with important theoretical and practical significance for the healthy and rapid development of China’s foreign direct investment.This article will be divided into seven parts to discuss China’s foreign direct investment. The first part introduces the background information and puts forward research purpose, significance, object and method of this article; The second part reviews development stage, industry selection, location selection, the theory of main body choice about foreign direct investment; The third part describes the development stage, model and government’s support system of America and Japan in foreign direct investment, in order to obtain the successful experience for China; The fourth part reviews the experience and analyzes current stage of China’s foreign direct investment so as to develop clear goal and task in the future; The fifth part broadly investigates in the industry, location, means and main body of China’s foreign direct investment, and to identify the deficiencies; The sixth part give a better scheme for China’s foreign investment industry, location and model on the basis of current problems; The last part puts forward policy recommendations to promote the development of China’s foreign direct investment from the perspective of government and enterprises.The main conclusions of this article include:(1) through empirical testing, found that China’s foreign direct investment in the third stage and the development of foreign direct investment behind the level of domestic economic development;(2) Basing on the developmental experience of U.S. and Japan and the characteristics of China’s foreign investment, found that some problem desiderate to solve, such as lower level of investment in industry, investment in the region is relatively concentrated, investment efficiency is not high, low management level and success rate of cross-border mergers and acquisitions, as well as the government’s support service system not in place;(3) Put forward strategy and suggest for China’s foreign direct investment healthy and fast development.
