Lean Production Research&Implementation In AN-SJ Plant

Decorative coatings industry as the downstream industry of the infrastructure construction and the real estate industry, the market competition is more intense. Combined with the standards like "Unit Energy Consumption Quota in Coating Industry" and "Clean Production Certification Rules" which have been launched by the government, those aim at to improve the coating industry barriers and promote the sustainable development. To be winner, the coating companies must to be more innovation in technology, production, environmental protection and sustainable development as well. As one of basic elements, the supply chain also need achieve breakthrough in quality improvement, wastes elimination, the cost reduction etc. Hereby, Lean Production is considered to be an effective approach.As the world’s largest paint and coating enterprise, AN company has its advantage in technology innovation and product technology. The AN-SJ factory is one of the largest waterborne decorative paints sites in China, its size in technology and equipment, production and quality are advanced in its industry, so it has certain representativeness.Take the AN-SJ factory as a case in Lean Production research and implementation, this article introduce the principle of the Lean Production, management models, tools, methods, and also introduces the common problems in coating manufacturing process. Around the DCR-Lean program and its self-evaluation system have been carried in AN-SJ site, this paper introduces its practice. The domestic coatings enterprises can get benefit and learn something from it.
